The latest Global Game Jam offering was TeaTime Turmoil, for the 2018 Jam.
The idea here was emergent gameplay, giving players the tools to create their own fun, but that fun factor would ultimately depend on a level that was fun to traverse and at the same time complex enough to give players multiple routes to complete objectives.
I was lucky to have an extremely talented and experienced trio of programmers for this year's entry and thus was able to work solely on the branding and mainly the level design. This design was somewhat different for me as I had proposed we make a 4 player couch-versus game, where two teams of up to 5 players each would do battle on a single 2D plane.
