Ian MorrisonDesigner, creator, spinner of yarns.
I am currently employed by Supermassive Games as a Level Designer, and have been a Team Lead. I have worked on the Dark Pictures Anthology series which shipped on PC, Xbox & PlayStation platforms, as well as some work with the Little Nightmares IP. Prior to this I completed a Masters in Game Design at Abertay University having also completed a BA Hons in Game Design and Production Management the few years before. I have worn many hats in the past, that of school teacher, college lecturer, freelance designer, script writer and storyboard artist at an animation company - but I feel all of these various elements have come together in the field of game design. I enjoy the design process and the many disciplines it entails. Level design, modelling, branding, character creation and world building are all fascinating and represent the aspects I have focused upon. |

So here is a collection of my games for the world to peruse.
During my time in Game development I have found an affinity for level design. Since my early days as a Dungeon Master, I have always enjoyed creating environments and worlds for my players to inhabit. Now video games have allowed me to expand upon that aspect and make a career out of it. I am familiar with the whole pipeline of level design, from concept, paper maps, whiteboxing to polish and scripting. Nothing gives me the satisfaction of seeing my creations brought to life. After teaching for a significant time I felt the need to put into practice what I preached and felt a call to create something myself. That dream is now being realised at Supermassive, and I get to create something which my daughters can be proud of and something that will hopefully make the world a more interesting place. |
